Turbo Monkey Tales is a group blog focusing on the craft, production, marketing and consumption of Children's Literature. We are illustrators, writers, animators and media mongrels. We are readers! We are published, unpublished and self-published; agented and searching, and 100% dedicated to our Kid Lit journey, no matter where we are on the path. Join our Tribe and grab a vine. The more the merrier!

Sarah

I teach high school math and creative writing. My students are well aware of my dependence on coffee and my tendency to go off on tangents, but know nothing of my status as houseplant assassin. I adore fairy tales and consider them the best way of getting back to Narnia– at least until I find a working wardrobe. I'm represented by Tracey Adams of Adams Literary and currently working on a YA fairy tale with my one remaining houseplant.*

Favorite writers and/or artists: Shannon Hale, Jane Austen, J.R.R Tolkien, Terry Pratchett, Rebecca Snead, Kristen Cashore, Kate DiCamillo, C.S. Lewis, J.K. Rowling, Lloyd Alexander, L.M. Montgomery.

How I monkey around: I love to write in coffee shops while eavesdropping on nearby conversations, eat chocolate, drink even MORE coffee, steal a blissful afternoon nap on the sofa, and collect random facts. (Did you know using a 0 in arithmetic could get you killed centuries ago?)

* Yes, it's clover– always knew they were lucky!
